QUT DYB222 Design Study Tour - 2025
Akarui Smart Tile
The Akarui Smart Tile was designed during a 3 day workshop at Kobe Design University as part of the QUT ID Japan Study Tour. With increased tourism in Japan and the 2032 Olympics in Brisbane, this smart tile was designed to provide a clear path for commuters coming in and out of train stations. Each tile can display colour coded directions and illuminate pathways to help direct pedestrian flow.
